Half a kilo of narcotics extremely consumed among young people were withdrawn from the market in an attempt by the Anti-Drug police to limit the trade in “poisons in envelopes”. Narcotic drugs of this kind are sold at more than “reasonable” prices, being accessible to consumers with no income of their own or with low income.

Along with half a kilogram of goods, five dealers, including a young woman, were temporarily “withdrawn” from the market, forming a network that bought, transported, stored and sold the “crystals” highly valued by thrill seekers strong, interested in having a good time and increasing their dose of adrenaline and “optimism”.

The activity on the Galati market of the five was a short but profitable one, according to BCCO Galati police officers, who documented operations from February until now. The network had a clear objective: procure high-risk and high-risk drugs and then sell them, by the gram, to consumers in the county.

“From the research carried out, it emerged that, between February and April 24, 2024, based on the same criminal resolution, four of them possessed, stored, transported and sold the amount of 535 grams of a high-risk drug in the form of a crystalline substance, respectively 3-CMC and 4-CMC, to various consumers in Galati county. Regarding the fifth person investigated, it was noted that, during the same period, he possessed and sold approximately 90 grams of high-risk drugs 3- CMC and 4-CMC, with amounts ranging between 200 and 400 lei”, pointed out the investigators, who organized a flagrant in which they caught a transaction aimed at the sale of more than eight grams of drugs.

“Two of the investigated persons were found in flagrante delicto, while they allegedly sold 3.5 grams and 5 grams of crystalline substance (4-CMC, high-risk drug) for the sums of 400 and 1,000 lei, respectively”, it is also shown in the official conclusions.

In the dealers’ homes, the police found almost half a kilogram of 4-CMC, a very dangerous drug with effects similar to cocaine, but much cheaper. Grinders, electronic scales, objects bearing traces of substances, self-sealing envelopes, sums of money in lei and foreign currency, as well as other evidence were also seized.

DIICOT prosecutors requested the preventive arrest, for 30 days, of Prisacariu Ionuț Andrei, Haret Florin, Vasilache Eduard Ionuț, Nicolau Robert Alin and Andrea Neagu, under the charges of high-risk and high-risk drug trafficking, in continued form. The court granted the request, so the five have an extremely high chance of spending Easter in police custody.

“Poor Partiers’ Drugs”

This is how the two types of narcotic drugs consumed on a larger scale and more and more to the detriment of “natural” drugs are considered. In the form of fine crystals (or powder) that can be swallowed or inhaled, 3-CMC and 4-CMC have highly deceptive effects. The sensations of happiness, euphoria and excitement, experienced at the first doses, lead to the need to consume more and more often, experts say, which leads to such a high demand and supply respectively, in addition to the very affordable price. The truly dangerous and long-lasting effects are: increased heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, teeth grinding, dilated pupils, insomnia, anxiety or psychosis. In high doses, 4-CMC in particular causes panic attacks, stroke, seizures, aortic dissection, and acute myocardial infarction.
