An employee of the Craiova National Roads Department died on Wednesday, after being hit by a van, while doing road maintenance work, on the national road DN 6, in the Dolje town of Răcarii de Sus. A colleague of his was seriously injured.
According to the police, a 68-year-old man, a Bulgarian citizen, while driving a combination of vehicles (TIR) on DN 6, in the town of Răcarii de Sus, for reasons to be determined following the investigations, got into a collision front-to-back with a van he designed into two people, a 45-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man, who were doing road maintenance work on lane 1.
The event resulted in the death of the woman and the injury of the man.
The driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the result was negative.
“Furthermore, the police are carrying out activities to establish all the circumstances in which the event took place, as a criminal case has been drawn up under the aspect of committing the crimes of culpable homicide and culpable bodily injury,” reports IPJ Dolj.
