Electric minibuses for students from 25 localities in Constanta! The contract for the supply of ecological vehicles was signed, today, at the end of the Constanța County Council meeting. The value of the project amounts to over 24 million lei, funds from PNNR.

The president of the Constanța County Council, Mihai Lupu, says that all town halls need new minibuses, and the ones that are receiving them now have been selected according to certain criteria.

“They might not be enough, because there are many students, but today we went to the areas that are really critical. If you go to Lipnița to see, where the distance between the localities is at least 7km, the situation is critical with the transportation of students”, said the president of the CJC, Mihai Lupu.

CJC vice-president, Petre Enciu, says that the company that won the contract is from the European Union and has extended the warranty offered for minibuses.

“The contractor will provide us with a warranty that has been extended from our 3-year specification value to 10 years for the vehicle, 10-year battery warranty and the autonomy of these vehicles, of these minibuses has been increased by the winning bid of from 200km to 300km”, said the Vice-President of the CJC, Petre Enciu.

Until the end of 2024, students from the following localities will benefit from these electric minibuses: Deleni, Crucea, Adamclisi, Ostrov, Seimeni, Albești, Pantelimon, Lipnița, Comana, Băneasa, Gârliciu, Horia, Ciobanu, Castelu, Săcele, Cogealac, Cobadin, Ciocârlia, Limanu, Mihai Viteazu, Ion Corvin, Poarta Albă, Cogealac, Chirnogeni and Cuza Vodă. Electric minibuses have 16+1 seats.

On the other hand, the draft decision regarding the withdrawal of the County Council from the Sustainable Development Association was also rejected in today’s meeting by the county elected officials. The initiator of the project, the head of the CJC, Mihai Lupu, failed to convince the councilors to change their vote given last week. Lupu claims that the Sustainable Development Association doubles the activity of the County Council, while the head of ADD, Ana Maria Vătămanu says that the association’s actions are carried out legally and transparently. Mihai Lupu stated that he will not give up this project that would allow the County Council to stop financing the Sustainable Development Association and that he will put it on the councilors’ table again, after the elections.

Another project rejected in the ordinary meeting of the County Council refers to the initiation of the selection procedure for the members of the Board of Directors of Drumuri Județene Constanța SA
