More than 300 schools in Bucharest have Green Week 2024 before the Easter holiday, in the last days in which they can still organize the program. Another nearly 70 run “School differently” – LIST

The “Green Week” program was chosen by more than 300 schools in the week before the Easter holiday for students, according to data from the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest (ISMB), at the request of Edupedu.ro. Almost 70 other schools have chosen the last week of the course module to be ‘School Differently’.

More precisely, most schools in the Capital, 318 in number, have chosen to hold the Green Week in the week before the Easter holiday, from Monday, April 22 to Friday, April 26, 2024. Another 68 schools have activities of the ” School Otherwise” in the same week.

After the Easter holiday, which ends on Tuesday 7 May, there are 3 days of school left: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 May. In the following week, May 13-17, 2024, only two schools in Bucharest chose to carry out the “Different School” program, according to the cited source. No school has Green Week on May 13-17, according to ISMB data obtained at the request of Edupedu.ro a few months ago.

• “Different school” and “Green week” are organized between September 11, 2023 and April 26, 2024, in intervals of 5 consecutive working days, at the decision of the school, in different modules, according to the structure of the current school year. In other words, there are still the last days in which one or two educational programs can be organized.

Edupedu.ro wrote in January about “Green Week” low cost. The Ministry of Environment cut almost 400 million lei from the funding for schools, announced for the presidential program in July 2023 to 500 million lei. According to Edupedu.ro analysis, a student gets 17 lei per year, the equivalent of 5 and a half bagels.

On April 8, recently, the “Green Week” program officially received 100 million lei from the Environmental Fund, for the years 2024 and 2025, the equivalent of 5 and a half bagels per student. School inspectorates and schools are responsible for the use of the money.
