Hydrologists have issued a Code Orange flood warning for rivers in four counties, including Gorjul. Also, rivers in 11 counties will be under a Yellow Code warning.
The Orange Code warning is valid from Tuesday from 11:00 p.m. to Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. on the rivers in the hydrographic basins: Jiu (Gorj county), Motru (counties: Gorj and Mehedinţi), Gilort (Gorj county), Olteţ (counties: Gorj and Vâlcea ), Lotru (Vâlcea county), Olt (counties: Vâlcea and Argeş).
Hydrologists have also issued a Code Yellow warning, which takes effect from 18:00 on Tuesday and is valid until 14:00 on Wednesday.
This concerns the rivers in the hydrographic basins: Vişeu (Maramureş county), Someşul Mare (Bistrita Năsăud county), Timiş (Caraş Severin county), Cerna (counties: Gorj and Caraş Severin), Jiu (counties: Hunedoara and Gorj), Motru (counties : Gorj and Mehedinţi), Gilort (Gorj county), Olt (counties: Sibiu, Vâlcea and Argeş), Olteţ (counties: Gorj and Vâlcea), Argeş, Dâmboviţa (counties: Argeş and Dâmboviţa), Ialomiţa (counties: Dâmboviţa and Prahova ), Prahova, Teleajen (Prahova county).
The hydrological warning mainly concerns the phenomena of important flows on slopes, torrents and streams, rapid floods on small rivers with possible severe local flooding effects, which can occur with greater probability and intensity on Wednesday, between 3.00 and 8.00, on some rivers small from the northern half of Gorj and Vâlcea counties.
