The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management issued, on Tuesday, a Code Orange flood warning, targeting rivers in four counties until Wednesday morning, as well as a Yellow Flood Code, valid in 12 hydrographic basins.

Thus, between April 23, 11:00 p.m. – April 24, 10:00 a.m., according to the Orange Code, there will be significant leaks on slopes, torrents and streams, rapid floods, increases in flows and levels, with possible exceeding of Defense quotas, on the rivers in the hydrographic basins: Jiu – tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Sadu – upstream confluence with the river Gilort (Gorj county), Motru – upstream basin Broşteni SH (counties: Gorj and Mehedinţi), Gilort – upstream basin Novaci SH and tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Novaci – upstream SH Turburea (Gorj county), Olteţ – upper basin (counties: Gorj and Vâlcea), Lotru – upstream basin of the Vidra Accumulation and tributaries related to the downstream sector of the Vidra Accumulation (Vâlcea county) and Olt – tributaries related to the downstream sector confluence with the Lotru River – upstream of the Ioneşti Accumulation (counties: Vâlcea and Argeş).

The hydrological warning mainly concerns similar hydrological phenomena with greater probability and intensity throughout the day on Wednesday, between 3:00 – 8:00, on some small rivers in the northern half of Gorj and Vâlcea counties.

At the same time, from April 23, 6:00 p.m. to April 24, 2:00 p.m., there will be a Yellow Flood Code on the following watercourses: Vişeu – upper basin and middle and lower basin tributaries (Maramureş county), Someşul Mare – upper basin and middle and lower basin tributaries (Bistrita-Năsăud county), Timiş – upstream basin SH Teregova and tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Teregova – upstream confluence with the Nădrag river (Caraş-Severin county), Cerna – upper basin and tributaries middle basin and lower (counties: Gorj and Caraş-Severin), Jiu – upstream basin SH Sadu and the tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Sadu – upstream confluence with the river Gilort (counties: Hunedoara and Gorj), Motru – upstream basin Broşteni SH and the tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Broşteni (counties: Gorj and Mehedinți), Gilort – upstream basin of SH Târgu Cărbuneşti and the tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Târgu Cărbuneşti (Gorj county), Olt – tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Sebeş Olt – upstream of the Ioneşti Reservoir (counties: Sibiu, Vâlcea and Argeş), Olteţ – upper basin (counties: Gorj and Vâlcea), Argeş – upper basin, Dâmboviţa – upper basin (counties: Argeş and Dâmboviţa), Ialomiţa – basin upstream of the Pucioasa Reservoir (counties: Dâmboviţa and Prahova) and Prahova – basin superior, Teleajen (Prahova county).
