Oradean actor Andrian Locovei, sentenced to 6 years in prison…

The actor Andrian Locovei from the Regina Maria Theater in Oradea was sentenced to 6 years in prison in the trial in which he is accused of rape, the victim also being an actress. The decision was pronounced by the Oradea Court.

After a party

The trial was started on behalf of the actor by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea Court as a result of an investigation launched in the summer of 2022, at the complaint of the victim, also an actress.

As he reported at the time Bihor, the woman claimed that Andrian Locovei assaulted her on the night of July 2 to 3, while they were in her home, after a party. Following the complaint, the actor was detained, on July 3, for 24 hours, and a day later he was placed under judicial control, with the prohibition to approach his victim’s home.

The man would have premeditated his act, prosecutors claim. On the night of the incident, the host retired early, leaving his guests to continue partying. Locovei waited until most of the partygoers had left, and then he claimed in front of those who remained that he was going to say goodbye, but he entered the woman’s bedroom and allegedly raped her.

It appears from the testimony in the file that they were both drunk that night.

Andrian Locovei claims that “the sexual act was consented”

Although Andrian Locovei denied the accusations, the investigators claimed the opposite, and the Oradea Court found them right, following a trial that was heard in secret.

The court ordered that the actor be sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment and, at the same time, forced him to pay moral damages of 50,000 lei to his victim.

The court decision was pronounced on Monday and is not final. Moreover, the actor has already announced that he is attacking her, so the final verdict will be pronounced by the Oradea Court of Appeal.

Contacted by BihorAndrian Locovei declared that “the sexual act was consented, everything was consented”, and the file is “a crap, built with tricks, psychologists and without any proof that it was a forced sexual act”.

“The accusation is extremely serious and I will make the whole file public, at the end, to show all the donkeys that happened. I am obliged to prove to public opinion, family, colleagues, that everything is a lie. I have nothing to hide”, said Locovei.

Former artistic director

At the age of 45, Andrian Locovei is a graduate of the Târgu Mures University of Theater Arts and an actor in the Iosif Vulcan Troupe at the Regina Maria Theater, where, throughout his career, he played in dozens of plays, and between 2018 and 2020 he also held the position of artistic director of the institution.

Locovei was one of the actors of the Oradean theater who played in the movie “Morgen”, directed by Marian Crișan, which won numerous international awards. The actor has roles in Queen Mary Theater productions such as “The Reviewer”, “Tartuffe” and “Opera de trei parale”.

Several years ago, the actor also got involved in politics, actively supporting the campaign to unify the municipality of Sânmartin with Oradea. Andrian Locovei is married.
