“Roman Empire. The technology of the victors”, an unmissable exhibition for history enthusiasts, at the Arad Museum Complex

After the exhibition “Leonardo da Vinci – The Machines. The inventions of a genius of the Renaissance” hosted by the Arad museum last autumn, a new international exhibition, organized under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Romania, the Honorary Consulate of the Italian Republic in Arad, the Italian Institute of Culture and with the support of the “Leonardo da Vinci Museum ” from Florence, will be opened on Wednesday, April 24, by the Arad Museum Complex, at the Cultural Palace, the opening being scheduled at 11:00 a.m., in the presence of His Excellency Roberto Sperandio, honorary consul of Italy in Arad.

The exhibition, entitled “The Roman Empire. The Technology of the Victors” is dedicated not only to history buffs, but to all those fascinated by the secrets of the most powerful empire in human history. The public, and especially children, will have the opportunity to discover inventions from antiquity through the 40 exhibits that represent new machines used in battle, military and civil equipment from the time of the Roman Empire, impressive armor worn by soldiers and gladiators, reconstructed by artisans and the specialists from Museo Le Macchine di Leonardo da Vinci Firenze.

The exhibition also includes a series of clothing items, uniforms worn by soldiers, the inner tunic and the outer silk tunic, as well as essential clothing items from the Romanian woman’s wardrobe. The concept of the Roman arch, whose technique was the basis of the construction and progress of the empire, aqueducts, bridges, viaducts, as well as other elements built for efficiency in battle, the Roman ram, the assault tower, the defense tower, the catapult, are just as many attractions for the visitors of the Arada museum.

During the “Different School” week, the exhibition is visited with a guide by school groups from Arad, Timiș and Hunedoara. The exhibition is open to the public in the new exhibition space in the Cultural Palace until June 24 and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
