From the data recorded at the level of Dolj county, in the first quarter of 2024 it is observed – according to AJOFM Dolj (County Employment Agency) – that both the unemployment rate and the number of registered unemployed have an increasing trend. Thus, from the unemployment rate of 7.31% in January, it increased to 7.43% in February and 8.09% in March. The total number of unemployed was 16,808 in January, 17,147 in February and 18,664 in March. 1905 were compensated in January, 1800 in February and 1808 in March, and 14,963 were not compensated in January, 15,347 in February, 16,855 in March. From the data analysis, it is found that approximately 86% of the total number of unemployed registered, in the records of the AJOFM Dolj, belong to the rural environment. In order to reduce unemployment, AJOFM Dolj insists on a complex of measures provided by the legislation in force, measures aimed at increasing the chances of employment of people looking for a job, but also stimulating employers to employ the unemployed. Free professional training services, supporting people looking for a job by granting some facilities, according to Law 76/2002 on the unemployment insurance system and stimulating employment, stimulating labor mobility by granting prime. Another category of measures concerns the facilities granted to employers in order to stimulate the creation of new jobs and reduce unemployment.
