Three adults, officially charged with the death of a child. The woman who killed her daughter, tried for murder

Prosecutors have completed the investigation into the death of Alexandra Vasilache, the 9-year-old girl who died at the end of January, due to the ill-treatment she was subjected to by her mother. While Eugenia Vasilache will be tried for the murder of a family member, ill treatment of a minor and domestic violence, her brother and sister-in-law will have to answer for complicity.

Three months after the murder of the 9-year-old girl as a result of some cruel beatings that brutally ended her life, the investigators completed the investigations and sent the file to the table of the judges at the Galati Court. With the main suspect, the mother, Eugenia Vasilache, in preventive detention and with two other adults, respectively the uncle, Florin Vasilache, and his wife, Anamaria Vasilache, under judicial control, the prosecutors will ask for maximum penalties. This in the conditions where Eugenia Vasilache, who was determined to be directly related to the killing of the child through acts of cruelty, has a moderate mental retardation, and the relatives, in whose house the horrors happened, are, in turn, the parents of a small child. In the file that has not yet received a court date, Alexandra’s two sisters, legally represented by the General Directorate for Child Protection and Social Assistance Galati, also appear as injured parties.

The completed crime occurred at the end of January 2024, after several days in which Alexandra would have been constantly subjected to acts of extreme violence. The forensic doctors determined that the child’s death was extremely violent and that it occurred after she had been in agony for several hours, without first aid being given, although there were others in the house, apart from her mother , uncle and aunt.

“Between January 26, 2024 and January 30, 2024, while he was in the apartment in the municipality of Galati, he committed acts of violence against the minor victim VEA, his nine-year-old daughter, whom he repeatedly hit with blunt objects, caused her burns and compressed her with his hands, causing traumatic injuries all over her body, which accumulated their effect, traumatic-hemorrhagic shock, ultimately leading to the direct and unconditional death,” stated at that time the prosecutor Ovidiu Zaharia, the spokesperson of the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Galati Court.

The mother’s explanation, retained in the first 24 hours after the discovery of the shocking crime, was that she “got angry” at the child. The subsequent investigation revealed the fact that other episodes of “annoyance” had been the basis of other violence committed by Eugenia Vasilache on Alexandra and her sisters.
