As a result of the recent adoption of the Law on Offshore Wind Energy in Romania, the company Green Entrans, which owns the technology necessary to establish offshore wind farms, is interested in investing in this new field of activity in the Black Sea.

On this occasion, the representatives of the Norwegian company Green Entrans, led by Jorn Haugvaldstad, president and Odd B. Skjærseth, partner, met on Tuesday with Ionuț Rusu, the vice mayor of Constanța. The guests were accompanied by Mr. Laurentiu-Adrian Lazar, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway in Constanta.

“The representatives of the Norwegian company wanted to know what the opinion of the local authorities and the local community is about such possible investments in the region. They made a presentation of the company, the projects in the portfolio and the advantages they have.

Vice Mayor Ionuț Rusu highlighted the need to attract foreign investments to Constanta and the full openness of the municipality to support any serious company that would like to come here. Foreign investments can help the city to develop and the standard of living of the inhabitants will increase, with the appearance of well-paid job opportunities in the field of renewable energy obtained in the Black Sea”, the representatives of the Constanța City Hall sent in a statement.

“Constanța is the center of a growing region that can benefit from unprecedented domestic and foreign investment. We hope that our city will become a security provider and an energy, technological and innovative center on the Black Sea. The offshore law has just been approved and we hope it will take effect soon. Although we have no decision-making power in the regulation of this field, we will support, within our competences, the attraction of investors for the production of green energy off the Black Sea. Therefore, we encourage you to come to Constanța, because the city offers huge investment opportunities”, said Deputy Mayor Ionuț Rusu.
