A 23-year-old man from Olt county tricked his girlfriend from Sibiu into telling her passwords and access data from her phone, then stole 175,000 lei from her.
On Tuesday, April 2, the police officers of the Criminal Investigation Service within the IPJ Sibiu detained the 23-year-old young man from Olt county. He is under criminal investigation for committing the crimes of fraudulent financial operations – three material acts, respectively illegal access to a computer system.
“In fact, the young man is suspected that, between March 20 and 23 this year, while he was in the city of Sibiu, he would have accessed the mobile phone of a close person without right and would have repeatedly carried out financial transactions on the account of the person in cause to own accounts. Through the criminal activity, a damage of 175,000 lei was created”, informed IPJ Sibiu, in a press release.
Based on the evidence administered in the case, the Sibiu criminal investigation police took the measure of detaining the young man for 24 hours, to be presented to the competent prosecutor’s office in order to apply a preventive measure.
The investigations are continued at the level of the Sibiu Criminal Investigation Service, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu Court.
