The warning strike will take place between 12.00 and 13.00 in the public hospitals, and will be attended by union members and other employees who have signed for the strike on the lists of the Health Solidarity unions.

“This protest action is a form of expression of dissatisfaction with the refusal of the governors to honor the legitimate demands of the Health employees, in the first place being the method of rewarding participation in ensuring the continuity of medical services”, the statement reads.

Unionists say the one-hour warning strike is part of a strike against the Government’s economic and social policies, “against the Government’s refusal to negotiate and grant the legitimate rights of Health workers”.

Last month, the Sanitary Solidarity Federation announced that it was preparing a general strike.
