“Ioan N. Roman” Constanța County Library will host a round table on Thursday, April 4, starting at 5:00 p.m., on the occasion of the launch of the journal “Beautiful was the Seine under my flowers. The notes of a Romanian ambassador in Paris between Bataclan’15 and COVID-19” by the writer Adrian Cioroianu. On this occasion, the director of the library, prof. skilled dr. Angelo MIitchievici will be the writer’s host and dialogue partner.

Adrian Cioroianu is a renowned historian, with an essential contribution in the field of recent history, of the period of the communist dictatorship, with studies such as “Ce Ceaușescu qui hante les Roumains. Le mythe, les representations et le culte du Dirigeant dans la Roumanie communiste”, “On the shoulders of Marx. An introduction to the history of Romanian communism”, “Geopolitics of Matrioșka, post-Soviet Russia in the new world order”. University professor at the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest, co-author of high school textbooks, manager of the National Library, Adrian Cioroianu is also a remarkable essayist, one of the intellectuals with an intense and lucid-constructive presence in the life of the city, participating in various cultural shows aiming at education through history. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador of Romania to UNESCO, Adrian Cioroianu is also a refined man of culture, a knowledgeable connoisseur of international political life. The forthcoming book chronicles his memoirs as an ambassador, focusing primarily on the Parisian period and how culture, politics and life intertwine for a sensitive, nuanced observer with a keen sense of irony. At the end, the round table will end with an autograph session, and Adrian Cioroianu will enter into a dialogue with his readers. The entry is free.
