  • The meeting of partners within the SAFETY4TMF international project

During March 19-20, in Ostrava, Czech Republic, the meeting of the partners of the international project “SAFETY4TMF – Coordinated prevention and disaster management activities on Tailing Management Facilities by authorities, municipalities and other stakeholders for solution reducing transnational risk and hazard” took place – Coordinated disaster prevention and management activities at the tailings management units by the authorities, municipalities and interested parties, for solutions to reduce transnational risks and dangers, in which the Harghita County Council is a partner.

The coordinator of the project is the Hungarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration. During the project, the Harghita County Council collaborates with 15 partners from 10 countries in the Danube region. In addition, 10 strategic partners joined the team, including the Association of Volunteer Firefighters from Harghita County.

The aim of the project is to carry out coordinated disaster prevention and management activities by authorities, municipalities and stakeholders, in order to find solutions to reduce transnational risks and dangers.

During the event, the partners agreed on the way of working, targeting three processes: assessing and improving knowledge, cooperation, policies and procedures, strengthening the capacity to increase safety and disaster management, testing safety improvement procedures/processes and promoting the results in the Danube region.

At the same time, training and knowledge transfer opportunities, methods and target groups for disaster management capacity building were discussed.
