As the Cuget Liber newspaper announced already on Friday, Mihai Lupu will run for a new mandate at the head of the Constanţa County Council, from the PUSL, in the local elections on June 9.
“I will run for the presidency of the Constanța County Council on behalf of PUSL. I made this decision because I want to continue the projects for Constanța county. The doctrine of this party is close to my political options. We have many points in common. My political family betrayed me and lied to me Those I trusted, those who should have supported me because they share the same values and vision, turned their backs on me and, worse, turned their backs on Constanța county.
It is revolting to see how politicians betray people’s trust in order to pursue their own interests. I can no longer passively watch as the dirty games of local politics are played on the backs of our citizens, ignoring our needs and aspirations.
I join the Humanist Social Liberal Party ( PUSL ), a party that embraces the values of honesty, integrity and loyalty. Together with these brave people, I am going to fight for an administration that is accountable, transparent and oriented towards the good of our community.
My candidacy for the June 9 elections represents a firm commitment to you, the citizens of Constanța County. We will continue the started projects and access new funds for the responsible, long-term development of the county.

Likewise, the president of PUSL Constanţa, Florentin Chiforeanu, spoke for our newspaper about this step.
“It was a mutual attraction. We have similar development electoral programs. There are concepts of thought that put the man before the political class and before the party. Of course, politics without a party is not possible, but we believe that the man must be valued first and foremost. The achievements of the party matter a lot. First of all, it was a mutual attraction. We start from the fact that we are humanistic, pragmatic, we put people at the center of things and we do not hide behind political traditions. PUSL needs any person with good intentions put into the motto honor, dignity and courage. Anyone is welcome. The more valuable that person is in society, the better,” said Florentin Chiforeanu.
