Access to Success, the final conference to disseminate the results – Mures News, Targu Mures News

Between March 28 and 29, 2024, the final Conference was held to disseminate the results obtained within the Access to Success project (PN2058), financed by Norway through the Norwegian Grants within the Local Development Program.
The project was coordinated by the European Foundation for Consultancy, Implementation and Development (FECID) in partnership with Sibiu County School Inspectorate, Romania, Mures County School Inspectorate, Romania, University of South-Eastern, Norway, Innovius As, Norway.
The conference was opened by the welcome speeches addressed by Conf. univ. Dr. Margareta Stroia – FECID Foundation, Prof. Paula Maria Dărăban – General School Inspector, ISJ Mureș, Prof. Emilian – Marius Novac, General School Inspector, ISJ Sibiu, Prof. Monica-Adriana Munteanu – Deputy General School Inspector, ISJ Sibiu, University Prof. dr. Lasse Berntzen, University of South-Eastern, Norway, Goran Vujicic – Financial Director, Innovius AS, Norway.
During the conference, the activities carried out and the final results obtained during the implementation period were presented (educational and remedial activities, camps, training courses for teachers, transfer of good practices through the working visit of 27 teaching staff to Norway, the 2 editions of the Young Entrepreneur competition and the trip of the 2 winning teams to Norway, support workshops for parents.At the same time, the results of the project obtained by the associated partner secondary schools of the project were presented: Alma Secondary School, “GD Teutsch” Secondary School Agnita, School “Ion Dacian” Saschiz Secondary School, Albești Secondary School. Success stories and examples of good practice from the project’s associated partner secondary schools were made known and personalized merit diplomas were awarded to teachers from the project’s associated partner secondary schools , for involvement, dedication and the results achieved.

The final Conference was attended by representatives of the school inspectorates from Sibiu and Mureș, representatives of the international partners and teaching staff from the schools that are associated partners of the project, as well as representatives of the local and international academic environment.
The “Access to Success” project succeeded in what it set out to do, namely, to make an active contribution to increasing the degree of economic and social cohesion at the local and national level by improving the formal and non-formal skills of secondary school children, increasing the degree of their passability in high schools and by developing the skills, knowledge and professional skills necessary for jobs with a higher degree of qualification.
Through the “Access to Success” project, approximately 980 children aged between 10 and 16, at risk of dropping out of school, from 12 schools in Sibiu and Mureș counties, mostly from rural areas, benefited from educational activities, non-formal and social integration in order to prevent school dropout and/or early school leaving.
The project took place over a period of 31 months, between 01.09.2021 and 31.03.2024 in the localities of Agnita, Alma, Axente Sever, Marpod, Cârtisoara, Cristian, Răşinari (Sibiu county) and Albești, Saschiz, Târnăveni, Sîncraiu de Mureş (Mureș county) and benefits from a grant in the amount of €1,448,247 offered by Norway through the Norwegian Grants within the Local Development Program. The objective of the project is to increase the school participation by at least 10% of a number of 400 children from the primary target group and to increase the transition rate in higher school education (grades 1-9) by 1.5% during the project implementation period.
