The Sibiu authorities announce that starting this year, children who participate in the activities organized within the “Hiking Years” program will receive, free of charge, a book about ecotourism.
“Adventure in nature” is the name of the book whose main characters are Iris and Codruț. “The heroes of the book teach the little hikers everything about ecotourism, from how to dress when going up the mountain, to how to properly recycle leftover food or water containers. Also, the little adventurers will learn curiosities about the mountain fauna and flora and how they can recognize wild animals just by looking at the tracks left on the wet ground or on the snow”, the representatives of the Sibiu County Council describe the book. This will be offered both to children who, together with their parents, go on the hikes organized periodically within the program launched three years ago, and to students who go with the classes on such hikes.
As part of the Year of Hiking program, the Sibiu County Council announces that it has marked over 850 km of trails in the Făgăraş, Cindrel and Lotru mountains. And the book offered to children has the role of cultivating respect for nature. “We want Sibiu County to be recognized for nature-friendly tourism, and that’s why we emphasize the transmission of good practices to all those who choose to be our guests,” says Daniela Cîmpean, president of CJ Sibiu.
The calendar of events organized within the Anii Drumetiei program can be found on its official website, www.aniidrumetiei.ro.
