On the occasion of the anniversary of the Romanian Police Day, two police officers from the Olt County Police Inspectorate were congratulated and awarded by the Inspector General of the Romanian Police – chief of police Benone-Marian Matei with a diploma and a plaque of honor, as a result of the special professional results obtained. The two showed a lot of courage, saving the lives of fellow citizens.
The two award-winning police officers are agent Simion Cosmin George, a graduate of the “Vasile Lascăr” Câmpina School of Police Officers, class of 2019, who currently holds the position of station chief at the Pîrscoveni Police Station within the Rural Police Section no. 1 Bobicești and deputy chief police agent Fluture Doru Andrei, a graduate of the “Vasile Lascăr” Câmpina School of Police Officers, class of 2012, who currently holds the position of assistant chief of station at the Optași-Măgura Police Station within the Department of Rural Police no. 12 Horseshoe.
“One of the moments in which police officer Simion Cosmin George stood out in his work was on the evening of January 9, 2024, when he showed courage and entered a burning building in Pîrscoveni commune with his colleague , although the state of danger was imminent and involved assuming the risk of bodily harm or even loss of life, from where they evacuated a 62-year-old woman.
Deputy chief police agent Fluture Doru Andrei stood out in his activity on October 16, 2023, when a man from Movileni commune threatened to commit suicide by setting fire to the building he was in.
Although the man had three gas bottles open and a lighter in his hand, the state of danger being imminent and implying the assumption of the risk of suffering bodily harm or even loss of life, Fluture Doru Andrei forcibly entered the building and immobilized the man, removing the state of danger with his colleagues”, transmit IPJ Olt.
