The labor inspectors from the Territorial Labor Inspectorate (ITM) Galaţi carried out, in the first part of March, control actions at employers operating in the field of “Dismantling (disassembly) of decommissioned machines and equipment for the recovery of materials” CAEN code 3831. It was checked, first of all, how the minimum requirements of safety and health at work are respected, but also the observance of the legal provisions regarding the conclusion and execution of individual employment contracts. A total of 29 controls were carried out, and 31 contraventional sanctions were applied. Five of these were fines (two in the field of labor relations and three in the field of safety and health at work), totaling 12,500 lei.

Among the most frequent deficiencies found were non-compliance with employees’ weekly rest, failure to keep copies of individual employment contracts at work, lack of records of daily working hours by employees and failure to record the start and end times of the work schedule . Also, the periodic medical check-up was not carried out on time, and the work equipment was missing, incomplete or did not meet all occupational health and safety requirements.
