Wizz Air offered a point of view after two of the company’s planes collided on the Suceava Airport runway. The wing of one aircraft struck the rear of the other aircraft.
The two aircraft were at the boarding area on Tuesday and, for reasons that are not yet known, one of the planes wanted to go to the runway and would have touched the tail of the other plane with its wing.
There are no victims as a result of this incident, but several people had panic attacks.
“Wizz Air confirms that its flight W6 4692 from Suceava to Dortmund on 14 March 2023, while taxiing out of the parking position, collided with the right horizontal stabilizer of another WIZZ aircraft, which was parked in an adjacent position with no passengers on board.
All passengers of the Suceava-Dortmund flight are unharmed and have been disembarked safely. Wizz Air is providing a replacement aircraft for the affected flight and will transport passengers to their destination today.
“Wizz Air apologizes to the affected passengers and assures all customers that the safety and security of its passengers, crew and aircraft remains the airline’s top priority,” the airline’s representatives said.
