Viva, 21, is the daughter of film director Vanessa Vadim and the granddaughter of actress Jane and French director Roger Vadim. Roger was Jane’s first husband and the director of ‘Barbarella’, which helped make her an international sex symbol.

Jane Fonda revealed that she is suffering from cancer in 2022

In September 2022, the American actress and activist Jane Fonda announced that she was suffering from cancer, but declared herself optimistic about her chances of recovery, at the same time denouncing the inequalities regarding access to medical services in the United States of America.

“I was diagnosed with a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and started chemotherapy treatment. It’s a completely curable cancer, 80% of people survive, which is why I feel very lucky.”Jane Fonda announced on Instagram, after receiving the diagnosis of cancer of the lymphatic system.

“I also have the chance to benefit from medical insurance and to have access to the best medicines and treatments. I am aware that I am privileged and this is sad. Many Americans do not have access to the quality care that I receive, and this is not fair.”added the 84-year-old star.

In her message, she also emphasized the role of fossil fuels and pesticides in oncological diseases. “I have to do six months of chemotherapy, I tolerate the treatments well and, believe me, I will not let all this affect my environmental activism. The midterm elections are approaching (in November) and they will have important consequences. But you can count on me to join you in growing our army of climate fighters”Jane added.
