A violent storm severely affected the Bulgarian resort of Pomorie on the Black Sea VIDEO

A violent storm pushed a dozen boats into the sea off the resort of Pomorie on Saturday, several yachts reported being in trouble and one person fell overboard, the Burgas regional administration said.

The strong wind, with gusts reaching 100 km/h, brought down dozens of trees in the regional capital Burgas, the press office of the municipal government said. A fallen tree disrupted public transport along an artery in Burgas, reports BTA, quoted by Agerpres.

Several localities in the area had power outages.

The Maritime Administration was alerted about this situation.

The mayor of Pomorie, Ivan Alexiev, called an emergency meeting under the conditions where the situation here is quite serious. The regional government reported flooded streets and power outages in the city. The main traffic arteries were blocked by floods.
