Tuesday’s appearance gives the king yet another opportunity to draw attention to the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other health problems, as he has done in recent months, the quoted news agency noted.

In the coming weeks, King Charles III has several public appearances scheduled, and in June he will host a state visit by the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

Buckingham Palace announced on February 5 that King Charles III, 75, had been diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer and was taking a break from his public duties to focus on treatment.

Last week, the Palace said doctors were “very encouraged” by the progress made by the king, who will return to official duties but his public schedule will be adjusted as needed so as not to affect his recovery.

It is therefore unclear how many of the traditional summer royal events, including the King’s official birthday parade and the horse races at Royal Ascot, will be attended by Charles III as his treatment continues.

Unlike most royals before him, the British monarch chose to go public with details about his health when he first underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate and later when he was diagnosed with cancer. The decision raised public awareness of these issues.

England’s National Health Service has announced that the number of people seeking advice on prostate problems has increased 11-fold in the weeks since the king announced he was undergoing treatment.

Recently diagnosed with cancer and daughter-in-law of the king, Kate Middleton, has spoken publicly about her health problems without revealing many details.
