Vyorstka tallied the violent crime convictions of the 91 ex-convicts pardoned after fighting in Ukraine and the 84 regular army soldiers who returned from the front.

According to this tally, 76 people were killed by soldiers returning from Ukraine, 18 died of serious bodily injuries, 11 were killed in car accidents and two more died of drugs they were on. forced to consume them.

Another 100 people were seriously injured by soldiers returning from the front, but survived.

In murder cases, courts have sentenced ex-convicts to prison terms of between 6 and 11 years in maximum security facilities, and regular soldiers to terms of between 7 1/2 and 10 years. The sentences were increased to 22 years and 20 years in prison, respectively, in the case of decisions on combining some sentences.

The independent Russian publication believes that the actual number of crimes committed by soldiers returning to the country is probably higher, as courts do not publish every case on their websites and the media does not always mention their military experience.

Vyorstka notes that his tally does not include soldiers he could not verify had fought in Ukraine in the past two years.

In total, Vyorstka was able to identify 142 criminal cases involving murder, grievous bodily harm, traffic violations and drug coercion, in addition to the 34 known cases.
