SA “Moldovagaz” has made public the purchase price of natural gas for the month of May 2024, following the recent auction organized on the “BRM East Energy” platform. According to the stability contractual conditions between SA “Moldovagaz” and SA “Energocom”, the purchase price will be 31.13 euros per MWh.
This figure represents the equivalent of 331.22 euros (450 in April na) for one thousand cubic meters of natural gas or 6298.5 lei for the same quantity, without VAT. The price was determined according to the forecasted higher calorific value of the gas of 10.64 kWh per cubic meter, as well as the exchange rate on that date, reports Stiri.md with reference to money.md.
The decision to make this price public is part of an effort by SA “Moldovagaz” to bring transparency and clarity to the process of purchasing natural gas, thus satisfying the increased interest of the public and the parties involved in the energy industry in the Republic of Moldova.
In the context of the lower gas price, ANRE approved in today’s meeting, May 2, lower tariffs for the population. Thus, household consumers will pay a rate of 13.126 lei (with VAT) per cubic meter of gas, 10.3% less than the current rate.
