Tragedy in Holy Week. A four-year-old girl and her grandmother died after eating frozen fish.
Everything happened in a village in Călărași county.
From the first information, it seems that the girl, together with her grandparents, would have consumed fish bought from a store in the village. Only a few hours later, however, they were harmed.
The little girl, only four years old, felt sick and went into cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite the fact that she was picked up by an ambulance crew and transported to the hospital in Călărași, the doctors could not do anything to save her life.
The girl’s grandmother was also transported to the Oltenita Hospital, but despite all the efforts of the doctors, she was pronounced dead.
The grandfather of the dead girl is in serious condition at Oltenita Hospital.
ANPC has already collected evidence from the store in question, and the police have opened several investigations.
“On April 29, at around 10:20 a.m., the police from the Criminal Investigation Service were alerted to the fact that a minor and her 59-year-old grandmother were taken from their home by an ambulance and transported to two different hospital units, where they later died.
Considering the seriousness of the reported facts, an operative team coordinated by a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Călărași Court was established, a criminal file was drawn up, in which investigations are carried out, regarding the circumstances in which the death occurred.
Also, representatives of the Călărași Veterinary Sanitary Directorate and the Călăraşi Public Health Directorate participated in the on-site investigation.
Currently, investigations are being carried out regarding the establishment of the factual situation”, the police statement states.
