How the tragedy happened
From the first investigations carried out by the authorities, it seems that the car driven by the young woman from Mehedinți would have entered the opposite direction, after she lost control of the steering wheel. The victim remained imprisoned in the car, and the firefighters from the Strehaia Station promptly intervened on the scene, with a work truck equipped with water and foam, as well as a crew from the County Ambulance Service.
Despite all the efforts made by the intervention teams, the young driver did not show vital signs and was declared dead by the doctor on the ambulance. Firefighters also intervened to ensure fire prevention measures in the area of the accident.
The law enforcement officers have opened an investigation in this case
The police started an investigation to establish exactly the circumstances of the tragedy, opening a criminal case for manslaughter.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the road train involved in the accident is of Bulgarian origin and no alcohol consumption was found in his case.
The cars involved in the accident suffered serious damage as a result of the impact, and road traffic in the area was blocked while investigations were carried out by the authorities.
