Police have issued an urgent ‘do not approach’ warning after a man absconded during a visit from a secure unit.

Shaun Paul Smith went missing during the visit to Preston from the unit last Thursday (April 25), police said. Officers now believe Shaun, who may also go by the name Aemon Martin, is in Manchester.

He was spotted in the Tesco Express in Piccadilly Gardens at around 8.30am yesterday morning (Tuesday, April 30). Police said members of the public should ‘remain vigilant’ and call 999 if they see him.
