On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, a terrible road accident occurred between the localities of 2 Mai and Mangalia. Due to not adapting the speed to the road weather conditions, Rareș Gabriel (27 years old), the driver of a BMW, lost control of the car and ran into a pole on the side of the road at speed. As a result of the impact, the driver lost his life, and the passenger in the car, a 23-year-old man, was urgently transported to the hospital in Mangalia.
On the morning of Tuesday, April 30, Rareș Gabriel lost his life following a road accident. From the first information, it seems that the young man lost control of the steering wheel – due to not adapting the speed to the road weather conditions – and the car ran into a pole on the side of the DN 39 road, between Mangalia and 2 Mai, next to the shipyard Damen.

Gabriel lost control of the steering wheel of the car he was driving
The impact was fatal for the driver. While being transported to Mangalia Hospital, the young man went into cardio-respiratory arrest. Despite resuscitation efforts, doctors had to declare death. His friend in the car, a 23-year-old man, was taken to hospital in critical condition.
“During the morning, we were requested by the 112 service, for a road accident between the localities of 2 Mai and Vama Veche. Two ambulances and an ambulance in Smurd went to the scene of the request. Two patients were found with major trauma in critical condition.
He was first transported to Mangalia Hospital, and from Mangalia Hospital, both patients were picked up by two SAJ crews with a doctor, to be transported to the County Hospital. The first patient who left the Mangalia Hospital, during the transport, went into cardio-respiratory arrest, a resuscitation protocol was performed by the SAJ crews, but, unfortunately without a favorable result, he was declared dead.
The second patient, in critical condition, due to the serious condition in which the SAJ crew was, requested a Smurd crew, with a doctor, and was taken by him to be transported to the County Hospital”, transmitted the doctor Diana Claudia Tatarici, spokesperson of the Constanța County Ambulance Service.
