Death shrouded in mystery! A 4-year-old girl and her grandmother from Spanțov, Călărași county, died after allegedly eating several fish dishes on Palm Sunday, writes Pro Tv.

The authorities opened an investigation and collected evidence both from the store where the fish was bought and from the family’s home. Unfortunately, the grandfather was also hospitalized in serious condition at the hospital in Oltenita, in the intensive care unit.

Since Sunday, the little girl would have felt sick, and the frightened family urgently called the ambulance. When the crew arrived, the girl was already in cardio-respiratory arrest, so the child was resuscitated, and finally she was also transported urgently to the Călăraşi County Hospital.

About two hours after the maneuvers performed, the girl’s body gave way, and the doctors had to declare her death.

The shocking discovery of the inspectors

The locals are shocked by what happened and say that the frozen mackerel fish they consumed on Palm Sunday is to blame. It would have been bought from a shop in the village.

From the first information of the inspectors, it seems that they were found in the family’s refrigerator, in addition to the fish and other products that were then prepared on the grill, including expired sausages, informs the source quoted above.

“We sent some warnings to consumers during the Floriilor period, when fish is consumed, regarding the quality of the products… In this case we will make checks to determine if the economic operator has carried out an authorized activity, if it has storage conditions and marketing of fish in accordance with the legal provisions”, Sebastian Hotca, head of ANPC, sent, according to Digi 24.

At the same time, the dead bodies will be taken to the necropsy, which will conclude the investigation.
