Mihai Tâmpeanu and Butură Alex participated, together with the representatives of the Kodo Galaţi Sports Club, in the Final of the National Traditional Karate Championship that took place between April 26-28, 2024, in Bucharest.
Competitors from all over the country participated in the sports competition, in the age categories of cadets, juniors, youth and seniors.
Mihai Tâmpeanu and Butură Alex are police officers in the Galati County Police Inspectorate and together they won a gold medal in the senior team kumite event and a silver medal in the senior team kata event. They will represent Romania at the European Traditional Karate Championship that will take place in Iasi, in the middle of May this year.
Over time, both police officers achieved outstanding sporting results, including world, European and national championship titles.
Mihai Tâmpeanu is an emeritus coach, emeritus master of sports and, thanks to the results obtained in his sports career, he received the title of honorary citizen of the Municipality of Galati. PHOTO, below! ↓
