Our archers started the internal outdoor season in Bucharest, where they participated in the Outdoor Federation Cup, a competition organized by the Romanian Archery Federation.
At the contest organized at the Olimpia stadium, CSM Tg. Mures was represented by 5 athletes: Tamás Moréh in the U21 male recurve category, Willow Codrin in the U18 men’s Compound category, Fecioru Ilinca in the senior women’s Recurve category and Rachita Şerbanrespectively Sandor Kacsóboth in the Senior Compound category.

The first two clearly won the competition in their category, after qualifying detached from the first position, and they maintained this status until the end.
Salcă Codrin ranked 2nd in the qualifications and won the silver medal.
Răchită Șerban qualified from 1st place and advanced directly to the quarter-finals where he narrowly won the match against athlete Milcu Marius with a score of 138-137. In the semi-final, he met Teodor Vlad from CSM Bacău and won the match much more clearly, with a score of 145-137.
In the final, Şerban managed to win first place after defeating Judea Mirel from SCM Deva with a score of 147-143.
Sándor Kacsó qualified from the 13th position and then lost in the round of 16 against Teodor Vlad from CSM Bacău, with a score of 132-143.
Gold also in Compound teams
Răchită, Kacsó and Salcă managed to climb the first step – virtual – of the senior team podium.
They qualified from the 3rd place but managed to finish in the first place after two very strong matches, where the athletes gave their best and synchronized perfectly.
In the first match they defeated the athletes from Steaua Bucharest with a score of 226-215 and then in the golden final they managed to win against the athletes from Aktiv Bucharest with 224-210.
This was the first competition of the outdoor season and our athletes are satisfied with the results, and in addition to medals, they come home with extra experience to make the necessary changes in technique and equipment to have better results.
