The Sharks lead the Raiders 12-0 after 25 minutes at GIO Stadium in what is Ricky Stuart’s 500th NRL game as coach.

Cronulla’s two tries have come via forwards and thanks to some very lax Canberra defence.

The second of those came when Tom Hazelton ran over Joseph Tapine from just 5 meters out, in what was paper thin defense from the Raiders skipper.

“Gee whiz. That’s uncharacteristic from Tapine there,” Michael Ennis said on Fox League.

MATCH PREVIEW

The Raiders will host the red-hot Cronulla Sharks at Canberra’s GIO Stadium for their Round 8 clash on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts will be without halfback Jamal Fogarty, who suffered a bicep injury against the Broncos last weekend, while the Sharks have been boosted by the return of winger Sione Katoa, who missed last week’s match against the Cowboys due to suspension.

Cronulla, who have only suffered one defeat this season, will clinch the top spot on the NRL ladder if they topple the Raiders this weekend.

Kick-off is scheduled for 4.05pm AEST.
