Western United boss John Aloisi could welcome two young guns back into his squad for Sunday’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men season finale against Melbourne City.

Rhys Bozinovski and Kane Vidmar are both back in the extended squad and will be hoping for minutes to close out the season.

Bozinovski has not played since United’s win against Perth Glory at the beginning of March and will look to match his total of 11 appearances from last season.

Still 19 years of age, the midfielder continues to impress whenever he features and will be out to issue a reminder of his quality if given the opportunity to feature again.

Vidmar has missed two straight weeks with a concussion that he sustained in the defeat to the Central Coast Mariners earlier this month.

A 19-year-old himself, Vidmar has excelled in his first season in professional football, making 12 appearances and showing strong development as a centre-back.

The final round of the season will bring a last chance for Western United’s contingent of youngsters to impress.

Abel Walatee and Oliver Lavale both scored their first Isuzu UTE A-League goals against Perth Glory last week, while Charbel Shamoon returned to the side at right-back.

Matthew Grimaldi has been a standout for United this season and particularly in recent weeks with three goals in his last four matches.

A maiden career hat-trick would see Grimaldi end the season as United’s golden boot winner, or a brace would bring him level with Daniel Penha.

Injuries unfortunately mean that Penha and Josh Risdon will miss the final week of the season alongside longer term absentees like Noah Botic and Khoder Kaddour.
