Gold medal for Romania in rowing! Gianina van Groningen and Ionela Cozmiuc won, on Saturday, the gold medal in the women’s double rowing event, light category, at the European Rowing Championships in Szeged, reports news.ro. The two Romanians finished the race with a time of 07:29.63. A crew from Greece ranked second (07:31.94), and Italy ranked third (07:33.73).

Also on Saturday, the female four-frame team made up of Mădălina Bereş, Maria Lehaci, Magdalena Rusu and Amalia Bereş won the silver medal. In the men’s four oars, Cristian Nicoară, Bogdan Baitoc, Florin Horodişteanu and Ioan Prundeanu took 5th place. In the women’s four oars, the crew formed by Mariana Dumitru, Emanuela Ciotău, Alexandra Ungureanu and Mădălina Moroşan ranked sixth.

The men’s 8+1 crew consisting of Mihăiţă Ţigănescu, Ciprian Tudosă, Constantin Adam, Mugurel Vasile Semciuc, Florin Arteni, Sergiu Bejan, Ştefan Berariu, Florin Lehaci and Adrian Munteanu won, on Saturday, the bronze medal at the European Rowing Championships from Szeged. Great Britain took first place (05:52.90), and Germany finished second (05:55.23).
