AUR President George Simion declared, on Saturday at the Palace of the Parliament, at the “Make Europe Great Again” International Conference, that the other day, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu joked saying that it is shameful to be Moldovan and we should not call him Moldovan. “We all laughed. No one said the Prime Minister was racist. We all know it was a joke. He is not Moldovan, he is probably Roma”, added the leader of the AUR party. Simion also said that “we love our Roma brothers and sisters, our Hungarian friends, our Turkish and Greek compatriots, all those whose hearts beat for Romania”.

“We, the Romanians, are known for fighting for freedom. That’s why in 1989 we had our Revolution, and two years ago, we were the last country in Europe to fight against the infamous Covid 19 green certificate at work. It was not an easy fight. Romania still remains one of the freest countries in Europe. And I say this with sadness. Here, in our country, you can still joke without anyone being offended or accused of not being politically correct. So, on the days you are here, please joke on any subject, you will not be persecuted! This is normality! For example, the other day, our prime minister joked saying that it is shameful to be Moldovan and we should not call him Moldovan. We all laughed. No one said the Prime Minister was racist. We all know it was a joke. He is not Moldovan, he is probably Rrom. We love our Roma brothers and sisters, our Hungarian friends, our Turkish and Greek compatriots, all those whose hearts beat for Romania. We should all be proud of our origins. There is no shame in admitting who you really are!”, said George Simion.

He also specified that this event, the “Make Europe Great Again” International Conference, takes place to talk about freedom, prosperity and peace. Simion added that although our country has a great history, great ancestors, is a member of the EU, in reality Romanians are poor and do not belong to the same economic zone, being perceived rather as second-class citizens. “Often, among the few ideas promoted by the US Embassy and the European Commission about Romania is the one according to which we are savages because we claim that babies are born from the love between a man and a woman,” the AUR leader emphasized.

“You probably wondered why I called this conference “Make Europe Great Again”. Of course, credit goes to the Big Guy, Donald J. Trump. Not only America, but also Europe used to be great, but it is no longer great. I was born during communism, in 1986. My generation grew up looking to Western Europe, to America as a dream of the free world, where you could find jeans, prosperity, freedom of speech and democracy. We have a great history, we have great ancestors, and now we try to imagine ourselves as prosperous members of the European Union, but the reality is that we are poor and do not belong to the same economic zone, but rather are perceived as second-class citizens. Often, among the few ideas promoted by the US Embassy and the European Commission about Romania is the one according to which we are savages because we claim that babies are born from the love between a man and a woman. I say that it is not like that, that it is a cultural thing. But, the same entities believe that cows are destroying the planet and that we are not allowed to say that this is nonsense. We can be again what we once were. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, especially not the media,” he added.

“We can still get things back to normal, but we have to start by being honest,” George Simion continued.

“Honest about the housing crisis, about uncontrolled migration, about the decrease in the birth rate, about the pandemic and war. All these major issues we’ve been warned about for the past few years. Yes, our cities are slowly turning into ghettos. But we can change things. Yes, we are inundated with illegal immigrants. And this has to stop right now. Yes, the declining birthrate is a major problem. And we have to think of a solution. And how quickly. I thought and my solution is that I have a newborn boy, only 3 days old. I just came from the hospital. After years and years of being lied to, people want the truth, no matter how harsh it is. For a country to prosper, its people must be free. Free to speak, free to worship, free to do business. Free to think. So yes! We are here to talk about freedom, prosperity and peace. But we cannot have prosperity and peace without freedom. So, in a way, we’re here to talk about freedom first and foremost. We can be again what we once were. It’s not too late. Not if we act now. We can still turn things around. But we must stay united. All the conflict between us that we see in Europe and even in the US within the conservative movement certainly does not help our common cause. Either we stand together, ready to fight these godless bureaucrats, or we all lose. It’s that simple,” the AUR leader added.

He also said that the fast-approaching elections increase the chance of restoring the power of our peoples, in the context of having European leaders who can unite us. “We have Mr. Matteo Salvini, whom I visited last week in Rome, we have Mrs. Meloni, we have Mr. Kaczyński,” said the AUR president.

“For most of us, those present here, an important year awaits us. The elections are fast approaching and, with them, our chances of returning the power to our peoples are increasing. We have leaders at European level who can unite us. We have Mr. Matteo Salvini, whom I visited last week in Rome, we have Mrs. Meloni, we have Mr. Kaczyński. I’d rather follow and trust them as allies of my nation than trust the corrupt Ursula van der Layer and her lying network. I would propose, at the end of this conference, that all parties from all 27 countries in Europe sign a statement not to vote for Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen as the next head of the European Commission. We should all take this on board. The Polish people, the Romanian people, the Hungarian people, the Bulgarian people, the Slovaks, we were all caught between the Soviet times, between communism, and now between liberalism and globalism. And I hope that through this conference, through our united efforts and through a lot of work, we will manage to find our way to normality, to faith, to family”, concluded Simion.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu stated, on Thursday, in Timisoara that “Buzăul is not in Moldova and please don’t offend me”. He returned later and explained that he is “Moldovan as I am Transylvanian, Banatian, Oltean or Bukovinian, and his mother was from Tecuci. “So far be it from me to offend anyone. I see that a joke I made in Timişoara was interpreted and some are trying to make political speculation about it. It was nothing pejorative. If someone felt offended, I apologize, that’s not what I wanted”, added the PSD leader.
