An inquiry was presented yesterday in the Region, signed by the regional councilor of the League, Antonella Piccerillo, a written question in which the president of the regional government, Vincenzo De Luca, is asked about the expected timing for the appointment of experts from associations within the Provincial Expropriation Commission of Caserta. “We know that in Caserta the situation is particularly serious. To move away from technicalities, the essence is that when the owners of the lands subject to expropriation are subjected to an inappropriate economic compensation, they can appeal to the Provincial Expropriation Commission, whose members are appointed by the regional government,” explains Piccerillo. Currently, the Campania Region is four years late in these appointments; indeed, since the beginning of the current legislature, precisely since October 2020, and this is causing enormous damage to citizens, who, in addition to being expropriated, are denied the right to appeal against often laughable or otherwise unfair reimbursements. Behind such a significant backlog are even more serious factors, starting with the increase in expenses borne by each expropriating Municipality. An even more unacceptable paradox in a moment of crisis as delicate as the one we are experiencing. It is not only about compensation, but the lack of recognition and guarantee of precise rights,” she concludes. “My level of attention is maximum, I collect the appeal of many owners and take it upon myself, so that President De Luca can shed light on what is happening and act as an incentive for a rapid solution to the problem, perhaps telling us if they also forgot to make the appointments in Salerno or only in our maligned province.
