The Israeli Minister of National Security, the extremist Itamar Ben-Gvir, was transported to the hospital after being slightly injured in a car accident, the Israeli police said, quoted by the BBC.

Two other people were also injured and the circumstances of the incident are being investigated, police said.

Images on social networks showed an overturned car.

The Israeli media said that Ben-Gvir was returning from the city of Ramle, near Tel Aviv, which was the scene of a knife attack.

A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured in that incident, according to the emergency services. According to the police, a man who allegedly had mental health problems attacked the woman and was then shot and “neutralized” by a civilian.

Ben-Gvir is a controversial member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergency government.

He recently called for a large-scale military response from Israel against Iran after Tehran’s missile and drone attack on Israel, prompted by an Israeli attack that killed Iranian military officials in the Iranian consulate in Syria.

Also, Ben-Gvir supported the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza and calls for the restoration of Jewish settlements in the enclave.
