Alexandru Paraschiv had a difficult duel in the semifinals of the category up to 63.5 kilograms, where he ran into the Azerbaijani Malik Hasanov. Our athlete, who last month was one match away from qualifying for the Olympics, won the first two rounds and in the third, which is actually the last, he was injured in the face and the referee ended the fight early. Even so, Paraschiv was declared the winner.

For the title of European champion, Alexandru Paraschiv will fight with a Russian. And Daria Kozorez will have to get past a Russian to win continental gold. In the penultimate act of the category over 81 kilograms, our compatriot defeated a boxer from Hungary.

And Vasile Cebotari stopped one step away from the grand final. The Moldovan lost the duel with a representative of the hosts and won the bronze medal. So, our country will have at least two more silver medals at the European Boxing Championship, held in Belgrade. The competition does not count in the qualification process for the Olympic Games, the last chance for Moldovan boxers to earn the participation quota is at the end of May, when the pre-Olympic world tournament in Bangkok is scheduled.
