17-year-old Lyubov Lizunova was detained alongside Alexander Snezhkov – 19 – and Vladislav Vishnevsky, 23, in October 2022, a few months after Russia invaded Ukraine. Lizunova, who describes herself as an anarchist, was 15 at the time.

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, Lyubov Lizunova was sentenced by a Russian court to 3.6 years in prison for anti-war graffiti and social media posts.

It is the first time that a minor has been behind bars for his views against the war started by Vladimir Putin.

The youths, according to The Moscow Times, were initially accused of spray-painting the phrase “Death to the regime!” on the wall of a garage and later ran anti-war and animal rights videos on the Telegram messaging app.

Lizunova and Snezhkov have already been entered into the Rosfinmonitoring (Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation, also known as His Rosfin service Little bitestablished by Putin since 2001), which allows authorities to “freeze” accounts without a court order.
