Between April 25-27, 2024, in Iasi, the 7th edition of the No Addict National Conference will take place.
“It is an opportunity to meet specialists from this extremely hot area of current Romanian society, with many disciplines, with many subjects, with many questions, but hopefully also with solutions related to the topic of addictions, but also of mental health in general , because over the years the spectrum of interest of fellow doctors has broadened, and the conference is no longer attended only by psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists, but also by doctors from various specialties, cardiology, internal medicine, pulmonology and so on. On Thursday, April 25, 2024, we will begin a series of pre-conference classes. It is about four extremely interesting topics, starting from psychosomatics, from problems related to the involvement of mental disorders and reverberations on the cardio-vascular system, but also on the functionality, in general, of the body.
We will also have an addiction course, which will be taught by an expert, and we will also discuss extremely important things related to the influence and impact of artificial intelligence in mental health and medicine in general. The last course will deal with the problems related to the detection of psychoactive substances in traffic, but not only, through drug testing. There will also be a series of highly interesting presentations related to new addictions, behavioral addictions, food addiction, compulsive issues, sex addiction, technology addiction, and more.

What topics will be addressed at the No Addict National Conference
The first six editions had a total of 2,860 participants and 540 lecturers, including Dr. Ovidiu Alexinschi, primary physician at the “Socola” Institute of Psychiatry Iași, associate professor. Dr. Laura Mihaela Trandafir, associate professor Dr. Vladimir Poroch, associate professor dr. Andreea Silvana Szalontay, university professor Dr. Florin Mitu, Prof. Dr. Florin Scripcaru, Dr. Liviu Oprea, Prof. Dr. Ionuț Nistor, Prof. Dr. Călin Scripcaru and others. During the event, topics of major interest in the field of psychiatry and addiction will be addressed. The conference is a transdisciplinary one, with specialists in psychiatry, family doctors, pediatricians, nephrologists, cardiologists, and more taking part in the event.
On the first day of the conference, Dr. Florin Mitu and Dr. Mădălina Zota will discuss “Stress and atherosclerosis: mechanisms and therapeutic interventions”. Dr. Liviu Oprea will lecture on the topic of Artificial Intelligence in medicine, while Dr. Ovidiu Alexinschi will address the topic of “Particularities of artificial intelligence in mental health and addiction”. Another topic of maximum interest that will be addressed at the No Addict Conference is social media addiction. Thus, Dr. Romeo Dobrin, Andreea Soroceanu and Gabriela Cheie will discuss “Social media addiction and psychiatric implications in adolescents and young adults”.
