Fatal accident on DN 6. Two employees of DRDP Craiova were crushed by a TIR during some works

A woman died and a man was seriously injured following a road accident that took place on Wednesday, April 24, on National Road 6, in the town of Răcari. The two were colleagues at the Craiova Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges and were doing unclogging work when they were hit by a vehicle.

“On DN 6, within the radius of the town of Răcari, a very, very serious road incident took place. A truck traveling on lane 1 hit the light signaling trailer warning the traffic participants that work is being carried out in the area of ​​the public road by the employees from the National Roads, he pushed the trailer with the director’s car, he pushed it 30 meters, he hit the machine with which he was working for clogging. He hit two of our colleagues.

The works were properly signposted. The employees were accompanied, precisely in order not to have such problems, by those signaling trailers with luminous arrows, visible from a very long distance,” DRDP Craiova officials said.

The representatives of the Police Inspectorate of Dolj County announced that the accident was caused by a Bulgarian driver.

“In the afternoon of April 24, the Dolj County Police Inspectorate was alerted to the occurrence of a road accident on DN 6, in the town of Răcarii de Sus. Policemen from the Filiaşi City Police went to the scene and found that a 68-year-old man, a Bulgarian citizen, while driving a combination of vehicles (TIR) ​​on DN 6, in the town of Răcarii de Sus, for reasons to be determined following the investigations, entered in a front-to-back collision with a van that he drove into two people, a 45-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man, who were carrying out road maintenance work, on lane 1”, the police said.
