The former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Ana Birchall, is one of the richest people in Romania, with a fortune of more than 23 million dollars and which is continuously growing, thanks to impressive incomes and investments that produce millions more. From the official wealth declaration it can be seen that the former PSD leader has several lands and homes, including an apartment of over 300 square meters in Bucharest and two houses in the USA, jewelry, but also gold bars, dollars in banks and bonds and investments in foreign companies. Ana Birchall is, categorically, one of the richest people in Romania, with a huge and extremely diversified fortune, structured in such a way as to bring her even more money, from several sources. The former dignitary was employed from January 2022 as the main expert at Nuclearelectrica, as a special representative for Strategic Projects and International Relations, however, he recently resigned. According to the wealth declaration submitted on the website of the state nuclear company, from 2023, Ana Birchall has three plots of land with a total area of over 38,000 square meters in the picturesque Dorna Arini in Suceava, to which is added one hectare of agricultural land in Fulga de Jos, Prahova county. Among other things, Birchall also boasted, in 2023, with gold bars worth more than 200,000 lei, the equivalent of 40,000 euros.

The former Minister of Justice and European Affairs also owns two apartments in Bucharest – one of 50 square meters in Sector 4 and a second one in Sector 1, no less than 305 square meters, a house of 240 square meters in Dorna Arini, as well as a 180 square meter apartment in New York and a 250 square meter house in New Haven USA. The list of Ana Birchall’s huge fortune continues just as spectacularly, with €65,000 worth of jewellery, up from €62,000 worth in 2023. Bank accounts are uncounted, and so are the government bonds she holds.

Ana Birchall holds a law degree from the University of Bucharest and holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in law from Yale Law School, USA.
Ana Birchall worked on Wall Street, New York City, USA, as a lawyer in one of the largest law firms in the world. Since 2003, she joined the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, promoting Romania’s interests in NATO integration and EU accession.
Later, Ana Birchall decided to get involved in political life, holding the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Strategic Partnerships of Romania, Minister of Justice, Delegate Minister for European Affairs, High Representative of the Government for the relationship with the USA and European Affairs, Deputy in the Parliament of Romania, president of the Commission for European Affairs in the Chamber of Deputies, president of the Special Commission for Romania’s Presidency at the Council of the European Union, president of the Delegation of the Romanian Parliament to the OSCE.
