The Electoral Office of the Gorj County Circumscription rejected the protocol for the formation of the “AUR” electoral alliance, composed of the Alliance Party for the Union of Romanians and the Republican Party of Romania.
“As a result of the analysis of the protocol for the establishment of the electoral alliance with the name “AUR”, formed by the Party Alliance for the Union of Romanians represented by Mrs. Priescu Ionelia Florenta, and the Republican Party from Romania, represented by Mr. Ceambur Vasile Mircea, registered at the Electoral Bureau of Circumscription County no. 20 Gorge with no. 57|21.O4.2O24.
Taking into account the opinions expressed during the debates by the members of the Electoral Bureau of County constituency no. 20 Gorj in the meeting of 22.04.2024.
Considering the provisions of art. 1 of the decision of the Central Electoral Bureau no. 6H/02.04.2024,
Noting that the protocol of the electoral alliance subject to analysis for registration is not recorded by the managements of the organizations of the respective political formations organized at the level of the communes targeted by the respective electoral alliance, and in the form analyzed today in the meeting of the Electoral Bureau of County Circumscription no. 20 Gorj does not meet the specified formal conditions”, the decision of the Electoral Bureau states.

In conclusion, AUR will not be able to run in the local elections in Gorj, and the decision could form the basis of a precedent for a ban on the alliance at the national level.
