The accident took place on Wednesday, April 24, around 3:00 p.m., in the town of Răcarii de Sus in Dolje. A driver behind the wheel of a lorry ignored warnings that work was being carried out in the area and hit the light signaling trailer head on.

“Carelessness makes victims again!”was the message sent by the National Roads employees a few minutes after the accident.
Witnesses said that everything happened in a flash.
“On DN 6, in the area of Răcari, our colleagues from SDN Craiova, Ișanlița District, while carrying out work in the road area, were involved in a particularly serious road accident.
A road train hit the signaling trailer that was connected to an intervention van, moving the assembly over 30 meters, which hit the team that was carrying out sealing works.
Two of our colleagues were hit very seriously, one colleague lost her life, and one colleague is seriously injured”said Cristian Tudor, spokesman for the Craiova Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges.
Several rescue crews went to the scene. The injured employee was transported to the Emergency Hospital in Craiova, his condition being stable.
At the time of transmission of this information, the traffic in the town of Răcarii de Sus was blocked.
