Kumarasamy Navaneethan, 52 years old, was found in the town of Moers, Germany, at the beginning of January, following an exchange of information between the Romanian and German authorities. The man was wanted for committing a crime in 1991, when he killed a foreign citizen and threw him into Lac Morii, being later sentenced to 19 years in prison. The capture operation was possible thanks to the efficient cooperation between the Siren Bureaus in Romania and Germany, demonstrating the importance of international solidarity in combating cross-border crime.
