Nothing seems to be getting closer and closer to flagship territory with each new main series model it releases. The jump from Phone (1) to (2) was huge in terms of performance, and from (2) to (3) could be a big one again. Of course, with the step up in processing power, the price could go up, again.
Nothing Phone (3), “almost” flagship?
According to 91mobiles, a usually reliable source when it comes to smartphone leaks, Carl Pei’s company is said to be among those to launch a smartphone equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, the one recently announced by to Qualcomm.
This is a hybrid between the technologies used for the development of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and last year’s 8 Gen 2, for a slightly cheaper model compared to current flagships, but still very powerful.
We don’t know many other details about the Nothing Phone (3) at the moment, but it will most likely keep the design in line with the previous models, with the Glyph interface with LEDs on the back, a transparent cover and straight edges, similar to those on the iPhone.
The price of this model should increase in proportion to the targeted performance area. The original Nothing Phone (1) launched at around 500 euros, and the Phone (2) at around 600-650, so we could see a further increase of 100 euros to around 700. It remains to be seen if other components will receive a similar upgrade. The cameras would most need an upgrade on the models from Nothing, as they are otherwise very capable phones for their price category.
As for the release date, it is possible to repeat the “tradition” of the past years. The Nothing Phone (1) and (2) launched in July respectively, and the Phone (3) with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is expected around then.
