The businessman Ionel Sandu held, on Thursday, an incendiary press conference, in which he brought to the fore a series of ideas that he will implement, if he is voted by the citizens of Vaslui as mayor of the city, on June 9 . He spoke openly about a revolutionary project, unique in Romania, which would happen in Vaslui: a fast train on the Vaslui-Iași line, for those who work in the capital of Moldova.
Moreover, the AUR candidate for Vaslui City Hall accused the Executive of not spending public money transparently, for the benefit of the community.
“Vasluiul has been led by a dragon for 34 years. A dragon called PSD. One head fell, there are many heads left, which you would think are hiding somewhere. People still make plans, make ten-year plans. We can no longer go this way.
We will oppose this dragon.
In recent years, Vaslui has benefited from 80 million lei, money that comes from the 100,000 Moldovans who have never stayed in the city. They are only in the statistics. We will still find them on the lists. It doesn’t help us at all.
The advantage with these Moldovans is that they brought us some money, but we didn’t know what to do with it. If we monitor the last four years, for example, we see that we received a large amount of money, but did not use it.
At the end of last year, we had a surplus of 70 million lei. Why did the mayor’s office borrow another 56 million lei for trolleybus transportation? Go and see in the area, where no one works anymore, a forest of poles. I told him “The forest of the hanged”.
Why should we borrow anymore? Why should our children pay, why should our grandchildren pay some loans that do not add value to the city?
What happens to this surplus, year after year, at Vaslui City Hall? We do not see investments that will bring us added value. So why do we borrow?
What would I do with this money? If the people of Vaslui will vote for me and I will reach the town hall, a direct line, a fast train to Iași. A free train for all citizens who work in Iasi and who can quickly get to work and, according to the schedule, quickly return to Vaslui.
I will see, I will negotiate with SNCFR, with whoever is needed, to make this fast transport line. We will be connected to Iași in no more than three quarters of an hour. Until we get back on our feet economically, we will connect Vaslui and the airport in Iași with an express road, after which we will make that park for investors who will do business in our city.
Until we attract investors, we need to see what infrastructure we make available to them, and I, as mayor, will make this Vaslui-Iași fast train”, said Mr. sand
“When I am elected mayor of Vaslui, I will completely quit the company. I will sell all the shares, I will dispose of the company”
“We, Vasluians, are proud of the Copou park. Folks, this park is 100 years old. Is that the only thing we can be proud of? Our children, our grandchildren, our friends are gone. I, as the mayor of the city, undertake to bring the people of Vaslui home, this is their home.
We must make Vaslui a favorable environment for business, a dynamic city.
The Vaslui City Hall took over the military unit and said it would do asylums, all kinds of things. What did they achieve? Also at a park, with sensory paths, I don’t understand this term at all.
We have Goscom, we have the public transport company and I am committed to making a construction company with three people. You will say: how do three people build a block? It’s not like that. I tell you my thinking. The company will have an economist, a site manager, a project manager. This company will negotiate with each party, with the builder, it goes to the auction.
I want to answer those who accuse me or who think that I will do business, if I will be the mayor of the municipality of Vaslui, with construction materials. Official announcement: the moment I will be elected mayor of the municipality of Vaslui, I will completely quit the company. I will sell all the shares of the company, I will dispose of the company.
I will dedicate all my skills, everything I have learned in my 28 years as an entrepreneur, to the town hall and the community of Vaslui.
I mean, my family doesn’t eat with two spoons. My child gets what he needs, always will. My child does not want my company. My child needs education. I believe that education is the wealth that every parent has and can give to their child.
If I have brought my child to that stage where, as the people say, he can take his own flight, then my satisfaction is complete.
My child doesn’t want building materials, he wants to do research. I hope to make Vaslui a center through which the best minds can do research“, completed the AUR candidate at the City Hall.

“We will build apartments in Vaslui. What are we going to do with those apartments? We will give it to young people, people in need, for a period of five years, they will pay a modest rent. The town hall will earn from these rents, so it will have a long-term investment, it will earn, our young people will have a place to live, where they will not spend all their salary.
I keep thinking about the town hall’s surplus, we could build a few block stairs, with that money, we would move 100-120 families into a new house.
I will be with the citizen, without other interests. There will be no group interests, no personal interests, nothing. There will be nothing like it was before, with all kinds of personal interests. We don’t make any gangs”, said politician AUR.
