“Romania has, as of today, over 1,091 km of highway”

“Romania has, as of today, more than 1,091 km of highway and expressway in circulation.

Currently, contracts for the construction of another 729 km of high-speed road are being implemented (design and execution) and contracts for another 203 km have been put up for auction,” wrote Sorin Grindeanu, on Thursday, on his Facebook page.

The Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, also announced on Thursday that the contract for another lot from the mountain section of the A8 highway is going to auction.

The contract provides for a maximum period of 30 months, 6 months of design and 24 months of execution, and the financing will be provided through the Transport Program (PT) 2021-2027.

Two tunnels with a total length of 1.07 km will be built along the route of this highway lot.
